For the Rolls
- 6 sheets phyllo dough
- 5 oz ham sliced or diced
- 7 oz cheese cheddar or mozzarella, shredded
- 3 oz sausage optional, crumbled or diced
- 1 egg beaten
- 1 tsp sesame seeds
For the Sauce
- 1 ½ cups tomato passata
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 1 tsp sugar
- 1 tsp dried oregano
- Pinch of black pepper
- ½ tsp garlic powder
- ½ tsp dried basil
Preheat your oven to 400°F and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
This recipe makes two pizza rolls, each using three sheets of phyllo dough.
In a small bowl, mix all sauce ingredients until well combined.
Lay out two phyllo sheets on a clean surface, spread sauce over the top sheet, then add half the ham, cheese, and sausage (if using).
Roll up the phyllo tightly, repeat with the remaining sheets and fillings for the second roll.
Brush both rolls with beaten egg, sprinkle with sesame seeds, and bake for 30 minutes until golden.
Let the rolls cool slightly before slicing. Enjoy!
